Depression
Depression affects people in many different ways. Symptoms vary from mild to severe: long lasting feelings of unhappiness, hopelessness, loss of interest in things that used to bring you joy, tearfulness, suicidal thoughts, tired yet unable to sleep, aches and pains, withdrawal from people around you.
Living with depression can be incredibly difficult, for both those suffering and those around them. It often happens that we sink in to a state of depression when our innate emotional or physical needs are not being met, this is often caused after experiencing a traumatic event or perhaps a setback in life.
For many people the biggest obstacle in the way of seeking help is trying to work out whether or not they are actually depressed. Many people may not even notice they have depression as it can develop gradually over a matter of weeks or months. It often takes a friend, partner or family member to point out that you may have a problem.
